Gamlen Tableting reflects on AAPS 2015

New Gamlen products demonstrated during the show included the Gamlen PCA-500 and TTA systems for Pharmaceutical Research and Development use and the GTP-2 manufacturing model.

Gamlen Tableting exhibited their range of benchtop powder compaction analysers at AAPS 2015 in Orlando and the company is delighted to report yet another successful year. With two poster presentations, a brand new exhibition booth display and a new range of products to demonstrate, the Gamlen team welcomed international visitors both old and new throughout the show.

New Gamlen products demonstrated during the show included the Gamlen PCA-500 and TTA systems for Pharmaceutical Research and Development use and the GTP-2 manufacturing model.

Dori Schmetterling, Director of Business Development, Gamlen Tableting, commented: “We had a good number of visitors during AAPS with a high degree of interest, especially in the new black PCA-500 and TTA models.”

The Gamlen TTA (Tensile Tablet Analyzer) and software package automatically produces plots of tablet solid fraction vs tensile fracture stress (compactibility) and can be used in conjunction with the PCA-500 to plot tabletability (compaction pressure vs tensile strength) for use in quality control or research.

The Gamlen PCA-500 Powder Compaction Analyzer captures the compaction, detachment and ejection profiles of materials; generating automated, accurate, detachment force measurement.

The GTP-2 manufacturing model will output up top 100 tablets an hour and is very easy to use. Both the GTP-2 and PCA-500 feature a punch speed of 4mm/second and reduced dwell time to simulate the production environment.

Gamlen Tableting produces a range of instruments to enable better tablet formulations. Gamlen instruments are ideal for QbD in materials characterization, preformulation, formulation, and process development as well as at-line QC/QA of incoming APIs and excipients, and screening of formulations on the manufacturing floor.
