BIOSEARCH LIFE WILL BE INVOLVED IN THE PREMIUM PROJECT, APPROVED BY EUROPEAN COMMISSION.

The European Commission has recently announced the approval of the PREMIUM proposal: “Preservation of microorganisms by understanding the protective mechanisms of oligosaccharides”, submitted to the call: H2020-MSCA-RISE-2017.

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions ensure excellent and innovative research training as well as attractive career and knowledge-exchange opportunities through cross-border and cross-sector mobility of researchers.

PREMIUM aims at developing new and innovative strategies for long term preservation of lactic acid bacteria from the laboratory to the industrial scale, taking into account product quality, process conditions and environmental impact.

PREMIUM is a four-year research and innovation staff exchange multidisciplinary program between 5 academic European partners from France, Spain and Portugal: French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) (coordinator), Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences (Agro Paris Tech), the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), University of Madeira and University of Coimbra; 3 European industrial partners: Biosearch S.A. (Spain), Asymptote Ltd. (United Kingdom) and Cryolog (France) and also the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) from Argentina is involved.

The project has received very good qualification in all evaluation criteria (excellence, impact and quality and efficiency of the implementation). The proposal is currently in the grant agreement preparation phase with the European Commission.

The participation of Biosearch Life in this Research and Innovation staff exchange between public and private institutions within Europe and other countries will further strengthen the company’s experience and knowledge in the field of probiotic strains.
