Biotechs Face Squeeze on Partnering Deals
Biotechs are finding it increasingly difficult to secure partnering deals with pharmaceutical companies.
Biotech companies are facing increasing competition for partnering deals and a decrease in spending, a report has warned.
Burrill & Company's latest report on partnering deals reveals that the value of these agreements has fallen dramatically in recent months.
During the first seven months of the year, $18.9 billion worth of partnering deals for therapeutics, diagnostics and tools were struck in the US.
This is significantly lower than the $22.7 billion worth of deals signed during the same period in 2011.
