What are BlephOpia wipes used for?

BlephOpia wipes are recommended for the daily care and cleansing of sensitive eyelids, with particular emphasis on the margin of the eyelids. Thanks to the selected ingredients, the wipes are extremely effective at cleansing the skin of the eyelids and their margin, while maintaining the natural protective barrier of the epidermis around the eyes. They help to remove impurities such as deposits around the base of the eyelashes (cylindrical dandruff), pollen and secretions on the eyelids. They soothe irritation and inflammation of the skin caused, among others, by bacteria, allergies or Demodex blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction, barley or chalazion. They alleviate symptoms such as itching, burning, redness and swelling of the eyelids, and the feeling of sand under the eyelids (caused, among others, by infection). At the same time, they support the natural microbiome of the skin of the eyelids and around the eyes. In addition, they moisturize the skin of the eyelids and have a beneficial effect on the regeneration of the epidermis. Wipes are perfect for preparing for ophthalmic procedures or surgeries, such as intravitreal injections, laser vision correction, cataract or glaucoma surgeries.

How do the ingredients of BlephOpia wipes work?

Manuka Honey MGO 400+ - obtained from Manuka Leptospermum scoparium shrubs. These shrubs cover the cleanest areas of New Zealand. Methylglyoxal (MGO™) in an amount over 400 mg/kg is the main ingredient responsible for the unique properties of Manuka honey. Due to the low water content, relatively low pH (3.2 - 4.5), and the high content of carbohydrates and methylglyoxal (MGO™), Manuka honey prevents the formation of biofilm and slows down the growth and growth of bacteria, which is also due to the generated osmotic pressure which is often too high for potential pathogens.

How often can BlephOpia wipes be used?

It is recommended to use BlephOpia wipes twice a day: morning and evening, for 3 weeks, and then once a day for 3 months or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

BlephOpia are sterile wipes intended for single use only. The product is intended for use on the skin only. Avoid direct contact with the surface of the eye as this may cause a burning sensation. In the event of the product coming into contact with the eye, the eye should be rinsed with water.
