BMS to Expand Puerto Rican Site

Bristol-Myers Squibb is expanding its Humacao facility in order to manufacture additional medicines on the island of Puerto Rico.

Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced plans to expand its facility in the Puerto Rican city of Humacao, with a view to producing additional medicines in the country.

 

The $165 million expansion will add manufacturing capacity at the 48.5-acre site, involving renovations to existing buildings and the construction of 82,000 sq ft of new space for the production of type-2 diabetes medicines.

 

According to the company, the investment will create 100 new full-time jobs from 2016.
