CGT service providers link up to provide greater supply chain visibility

Cell and gene therapy service providers TrakCel and Ori Biotech have agreed a strategic partnership whereby TrakCel’s tracking software will be closely integrated with Ori’s automated platform to give users greater live supply chain visibility within closed system manufacturing, the two firms said Tuesday.

A closed system is a process system that ensures products are not exposed to the room environment, greatly reducing the risk of contamination.

TrakCel and Ori said the collaboration will enable users of Ori’s platform to benefit from live supply chain visibility through TrakCel software while TrakCel customers will have greater visibility into the manufacturing process via data services within the Ori platform.

The two firms said they will develop suitable points of integration so that a shared data platform can be made available to partners.

“TrakCel has developed an extensive partnership network with contract manufacturers and companies across the cell and gene therapy sector. This enables therapeutic developers to be supported by more standardized and integrated solutions,” said Fiona Withey, Co-Founder and CEO, TrakCel, adding that closed system manufacturing is becoming progressively more important for the cell and gene therapy sector.

“The integration of TrakCel’s advanced therapy supply chain tracking software with the Ori full-stack platform is another step forward enabling our customers to have full visibility throughout the supply chain,” said Farlan Veraitch, co-Founder and CSO, Ori Biotech.
