A new solution launched by Express Scripts aims to help address the issue of medication non-adherence - a major problem for healthcare services around the world.
Figures show that non-adherence cost the US healthcare system more than $317 billion in 2011, as failure to take medicines as prescribed can lead to medical complications.
The new Express Scripts 2011 Drug Trend Report also reveals that if the practice was eliminated, enough money would be saved to cover the cost of healthcare for 44.8 million uninsured people in the US alone.
