Inovio Obtains US Patent for SynCon Universal Vaccine for H1N1 Influenza
Inovio has been granted a US patent for a universal flu vaccine based on SynCon vaccine constructs.
Inovio Pharmaceuticals has been granted a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office which covers the company's SynCon universal vaccine for H1N1 influenza.
US patent number 8,133,723 has been granted to the trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and is licensed exclusively to Inovio under its agreement with the university.
Dr Joseph Kim, president and CEO of Inovio, described the patent as "significant".
