Introduction of contract development and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products including APIs intermediates and high pharmacological activity ingredients (CDMO)

FUJIFILM Wako Pure Chemical Corporation was established as a result of the consolidation between Wako Pure Chemical Corporation and FUJIFILM Fine Chemicals in April 2018. By the consolidation, we could greatly expand the process development which meets each phase of development and the production system which supports lab scale to commercial manufacture scale on CDMO business.

At our Hirono Plant which is the production base of CDMO business, the 3rd plant installed high pharmacological activity ingredient manufacturing facility and the 4th plant installed large-scale APIs manufacturing facility have operated since 2017. Both plants can product various APIs and intermediates in the same facility as multipurpose plant, and the 3rd plant can manage the containment level to category 5.  Both plants have jet mills and can meet API manufacturing requirement including micronization of APIs.
