Launch of New Diabetes Drug Trajenta in Germany Delayed

Boehringer and Eli Lilly have been negotiating the price of the drug with the German Government since winning EU approval last month.

Boehringer and Eli Lilly has delayed the launch of their new diabetes medication, Trajenta, in Germany as price negotiations for the drug are continuing.

 

Since winning EU approval last month, the two companies have been negotiating the price of the medication with the German Government under the recently introduced Act for the Restructuring of the Pharmaceutical Market in Statutory Health Insurance.

 

The drug is currently being launched across other European markets, but both companies could even shelve plans to launch the drug in Germany should the government decide to price the drug too low.
