Mylan Launches Generic Version of Exelon Capsules in UK

Mylan's UK-based subsidiary has launched Rivastigmine Capsules POM, a treatment for dementia in people with Alzheimer's disease.

Global generic and specialty pharmaceuticals company Mylan Inc. announced Tuesday that its U.K.-based subsidiary has launched Rivastigmine Capsules POM, 1.5 mg, 3 mg, 4.5 mg and 6 mg.

 

This product is the generic version of Novartis' Exelon? Capsules, a treatment for dementia in people with Alzheimer's disease. Mylan is the first company to launch a generic Rivastigmine formulation in the U.K.

 

Mylan Chairman and CEO Robert J. Coury said: "This is the second recent first-to-market generic for Mylan's business in the U.K., following the company's successful launch of Modafinil tablets, 100 mg, the generic version of Cephalon's Provigil?, earlier this year. We are excited to be adding generic Rivastigmine to our strong portfolio of more than 350 products in the U.K.,
