Olon to combine protein production expansion with sustainability

The expansion represents a significant milestone for the site as the company makes strides into developing its biotechnological platform expertise and production capacity.

The company said the expansion also fits its strategy to expand its CDMO services in different market segments, thus accommodating the needs of new, as well as existing, clients.

With the investment, the site of Settimo Torinese will have the production capacity for the significant volumes needed to sustain the launch of new products.

Olon has said it will build and operate the new area with advanced technologies that will produce proteins following innovative and highly sustainable processes, including microbial fermentation — an eco-friendly and sustainable technology.
