Pharma Firms Aid to Japan Continues

Donations from pharmaceutical companies are being provided to help the victims in Japan.

Pharmaceutical companies are continuing to provide aid and support for victims in Japan after the tsunami and 9.0-magnitude earthquake struck the country last Friday.

 

Abbott is providing $3m through its philanthropic foundation, the Abbott Fund, to support immediate relief efforts. The donation will be provided to the Japanese Red Cross through the American Red Cross and AmeriCares.

 

US-based biotechnology firm Amgen has donated $1m to Japanese disaster relief efforts, distributing funds to Direct Relief International and International Medical Corps.

 

The donations hope to bring basic needs and vital health services to those in dire need.
