SP Scientific Announces Spring Lyophilization Programme

SP Scientific has announced its programme of events for April 2015 will focus on the latest advances in lyophilization and freeze drying.

Visitors to the International Society of Lyophilization — Freeze Drying Inc. (ISL-FD) 2015 Chicago Conference on 9 April 2015 and Interphex in New York from 21–23 April 2015 will have the chance to meet SP product specialists to discuss applications and learn about the latest advances in lyophilization and pilot to production freeze drying. In addition, visitors to the SP Scientific booths that would like to discuss their lyophilization process and challenges will have the chance to enter to win a Toshiba Chromebook 2 at each of these events.

On 29–30 April 2015, Paul Coiteux, director of Technical Sales at SP will speak at SMi’s Lyophilisation USA - a conference focusing on process formulation and optimization for biologics and vaccines with a key focus on the development of lyophilization and scale up. At this event, Mr.Coiteux will present “Controlled Nucleation in Production Lyophilizers: Current State of the Technology” discussing the ease of retrofitting existing production units with ControLyo Technology, as well as an overview of a designed, and beta tested sterile containment filter array which effectively incorporates ControLyo Technology.

On 14 & 15 April — Biopharma Technology in collaboration with SP Scientific will present a course in Boston, MA entitled 'Lyophilization Technology — Product, Process and Systems'. This seminar will cover the science and application of lyophilization. Key concepts that will affect all job roles, including plant operation, quality assurance, product and process R&D, and production will be covered. Topics also include: Clean-In-Place and Sterilize-In-Place (CIP and SIP) in freeze drying and their impact on freeze dryer design; Tips for maintenance and ensuring smooth operation for operators and engineers; and Proteins — the unique challenges and complexities posed by these molecules when developing products and processes for freeze drying.

Finally, for those looking for a Hands On Course, SP Scientific has released dates for the 2015 “Lyophilization Cycle Development & Optimization” course  which focuses on the freeze drying process from formulation and thermal analysis to cycle development and optimization, packaging, and troubleshooting. Attendees will have hands-on use of freeze dryers, as well as other equipment and technology used in lyophilization cycle development, such as differential scanning calorimetry, freeze dry microscopy and moisture analysis. Courses are planned for 21–24 July 2015 and 6–9 October 2015, and registration is accepted online at www.spscientific.com/HandsOnTraining
