Stelmi to open a technical centre for innovation

Stelmi has created a technical centre at its headquarters near Paris, which will be operational early next year.

Stelmi, a French developer of elastomer components for the pharmaceutical industry, has created a technical centre at its headquarters near Paris, which will be operational early next year.

Comprising a pilot line that reproduces the production process of the components in elastomer and analytical laboratories, the firm said the technical centre would considerably expand r&d resources, approach new issues with the support of universities and specialist testing laboratories, trial new products, and provide customer assistance.

For nearly 50 years, Stelmi has been developing elastomer primary packaging closures for vials for antibiotics, lyophilisation, infusion, and diagnostics use, and for pre-filled syringes.

The company says its policy of constant innovation enables it to provide increasingly pure and inert formulations, and ‘ready-to-sterilise’ and sterile components for pharmaceutical use.
