Podcast: Are 3D printed drugs the future of personalized medicine?

The Pharma industry is shifting from volume to value – addressing smaller patient populations and rare diseases. 3D printing (3DP) technologies have a transformational role to play. However, 3DP comprises an array of different additive manufacturing technologies of which only some can be adapted to the use in pharmaceutics. This session will discuss the use of 3D printing in a hospital setting to prepare personalised therapies for paediatric patients. For the first time, 3D printing offers a feasible, rapid and automated approach to prepare oral tailored-dose therapies for patient improving safety and adherence to the treatment.
