US Health Secretary Announces New Public-private Partnerships to Fight HIV/Aids

Kathleen Sebelius said a collective response from both public and private organisations is needed to fight the HIV/Aids epidemic.

A series of new public-private partnerships aimed at fighting HIV/Aids has been announced by US health and human services (HHS) secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

 

Ms Sebelius claimed that a "collective" response is needed to combat the epidemic.

 

"That's why we're making a new effort to reach out to community-based organisations, businesses, foundations, non-governmental organisations, faith-based organisations and other partners to ask how we can work together," she explained, adding that these partnerships "will help make a difference in people's lives."
