Aptuit announces extension to GSK partnership

Pharmaceutical services provider Aptuit LLC has extended its partnership with GSK.

Aptuit LLC has announced a multiyear extension of its strategic partnership with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in Italy.
The company provides integrated early to mid-phase development services to the pharmaceutical industry at the Aptuit Centre for Drug Discovery & Development in Verona, which it acquired from GSK in 2010.

It also has global facilities in other parts of Europe and the US, as well as a strategic relationship with Laurus Labs in India.

Commenting on the announcement, Aptuit LLC chairman Timothy Tyson said: "This multiyear extension of our partnership with GSK reaffirms that our Verona site continues to deliver scientific excellence that is recognised by our customers.

"Since we finalised our original agreement with GSK in 2010, we have successfully transformed the Verona site from a pharmaceutical research centre to a world-class drug discovery and development outsourcing capability."

Mr Tyson added that initiatives at the Verona facility are providing productivity benefits across the company's business and praised the high level of quality and regulatory compliance at the site.
