Cancer Commons announces expansion

Cancer research organisation will include six new members.

Non-profit open science organisation Cancer Commons has announced an expansion project that will see the company take advantage of six new prominent research centres, service providers and patient advocacy services.

Marty Tenenbaum, founder and chairman of Cancer Commons, announced the project in San Francisco yesterday morning, with the full list of new members including Knight Diagnostic Laboratories at Oregon Health & Science University, the University of Chicago Medicine and Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation.

Science Exchange, an online marketplace for scientific services, will also provide services as part of the expansion, along with Imerman Angels, and the Melanoma Research Foundation.

"This latest expansion brings a group of highly distinguished research centres, patient advocacy organisations, and service providers into the Alliance and its shared mission of transforming the cancer treatment experience," said Mr Tenenbaum at the press conference.

He thanked all members for their contributions to Cancer Commons and pledged to continue the hard work leading up to this point.
