Envirotainer targeting Asia Pacific pharmaceutical market

The Swedish cold chain container company has opened a regional base in Singapore.

Envirotainer wants to tap into one of the world's fastest growing pharmaceuticals market with the establishment of a new branch in Singapore.

The Swedish firm, which specialises in cold chain containers for the packaging of pharmaceuticals, will target the Asia Pacific market from both the new offices and its base in Sydney.

Asia Pacific's pharmaceuticals market is expected to grow by 97 per cent between now and 2016, at which point it will account for 29 per cent of global pharma sales.

For this reason, Envirotainer has reached the decision to increase its investment in this territory and build on its existing partnerships with healthcare companies, as well as airlines and logistics partners.

Gustaf Ljunggren, chief executive of the company, said: "Envirotainer is today locally represented in Australia, India, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore and we intend to actively develop further in the region.

"Thanks to our airline partners the Asian pharmaceutical industry can standardize their cold chain packaging as these partners can connect more than 50 Asian cities within 48 hours or less."
