BOOK: Chemotyped Essential Oils. Aromas and Flavours for our Senses - Uses and Properties
Essential oils are natural aromatic liquid substances of variable colour depending on the plant being extracted and obtained using the best of each plant. Each of these natural and organic essences have essential characteristics and a unique aroma. Regarding their chemical composition, they are usually complex mixtures of very variable components that belong almost exclusively to the group of terpenes and, to a lesser extent, to the group of aromatic compounds derived from phenylpropane (cinnamic aldehyde, eugenol, anethole, anisic aldehyde and safrole, among others).
