GSK Supports Recovery Efforts to Help Quake Victims

GSK is practicing its disaster relief program for the quake victims in Japan.

GlaxoSmithKline is supporting the ongoing relief efforts by working with the Japanese authorities, the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and local NGOs to assist medical support and pharmaceutical donation needs in affected regions after the quake.

 

As part of the disaster relief program, GSK is donating ¥200 million (approx £1.5million) to the Japanese Red Cross to support the immediate efforts to supply clean water, blankets and food supplies. The company is also donating cold medicines and oral care products worth ¥ 80 million (approx £600,000) following requests for this type of self-medication products from the authorities.
