Orexigen to Be Added to NASDAQ Biotechnology Index
Biopharmaceutical firm Orexigen Therapeutics will be added to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index effective Monday, May 21, 2012.
Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of obesity, has announced that it will be added to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index effective Monday, May 21, 2012.
The NASDAQ Biotechnology Index is designed to track the performance of a set of NASDAQ-listed securities that are classified as either biotechnology or pharmaceutical according to the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB) and which also meet other eligibility criteria, including market value, average daily share volume, and seasoning as a public company.
The NASDAQ Biotechnology Index is re-ranked semi-annually in May and November.
