Oxford Researchers Granted to Develop Novel Vaccine for Children

Researchers in Oxford, UK, have been awarded over ?148,000 for the development of a novel vaccine against meningitis B in children.

UK charity Action Medical Research has awarded more than £148,000 to researchers in Oxford Vaccine Group, Department of Paediatrics and the Jenner Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine, Oxford, to develop a novel vaccine against meningitis B in children.

 

Action Medical Research senior research evaluation manager Dr Alexandra Dedman said the organisation is determined to stop the suffering that meningitis causes to babies and children.

 

"The charity finds and funds some of the best medical research in the world for the benefit of babies, children and young people," Dedman said.
