Significant changes are afoot in the pharmaceutical industry, a new report has claimed.
The latest report from Research and Markets, entitled 'Pharmaceutical R&D Trends 2012', highlights the challenges facing companies and the solutions that are being employed to deal with them.
According to the report, pharmaceutical companies are coming under increasing pressure to reduce the cost of research and development and boost productivity.
As a result, pharmaceutical R&D is "at a turning point", with companies adopting radical strategies to improve efficiency and tackle the ongoing raft of patent expiries.
