TB Protein Discovery Could Lead to Better Vax

UK scientists identified that the EspC protein stimulates a strong immune response in humans, and it's also quite specific to TB bacteria.

UK scientists identified a protein secreted by tuberculosis bacteria that could become a vaccine target. As Imperial College of London professor Ajit Lalvani said, the EspC protein stimulates a strong immune response in humans, and it's also quite specific to TB bacteria, making it "an extremely promising candidate" for a new vaccine.
