About Us

Società Italiana Medicinali Scandicci - S.I.M.S. srl - was founded in Scandicci in 1937 by Mr Ugo Rangoni. In the 50's and 60's it grew in both production and personnel. In 1972 the first DMF (phenylbutazone) was submitted to the FDA. The current API plant in Reggello has been in operation since 1974 and regularly inspected by the Agency ever since. Starting from 80's the Company has gained , through GMP status, an increasing recognition in the field of custom-toll manufacturing with major partners. The Company has over 20 APIs with registered DMF and, when applicable, the corresponding CEP.
