ALPLApharma – a new global provider of innovative pharmaceutical packaging

ALPLApharma, a new brand of the global packaging specialist ALPLA Group, will introduce itself for the first time to industry professionals at the CPHI Worldwide exhibition.

Not only will it showcase an entire range of products specially designed for the pharmaceutical market, but also a sustainable innovation.

CRC justONE: a new generation of child resistant closures
Usually, child resistant closures with tamper evident bands consist of three individual pieces, which are produced in three separate production steps and then assembled later. ALPLApharma has streamlined the production process with CRC justONE for a significantly more efficient workflow: both versions with and without the tamper evident band are manufactured in just one injection moulding process with straightforward assembly.

The improved production process means that 25% less material is required, a saving that achieves an excellent price–performance ratio and protects resources. And while CRC justONE is lighter than other child resistant closures, it is still reliable in its use. For the consumer nothing changes: CRC justONE works just like any other child resistant closure and product safety is just as reliable. Naturally CRC justONE meets all quality standards and holds certifications 16 CFR § 1700.20 and ISO 8317 for child-resistant packaging for bottles ranging from 30 ml to 1.5 litres.

See our innovation for yourself at the ALPLApharma stand: Innopack hall, stand #111A10, or in the Innovation Gallery at stand #111D42! The Innovation Tour will also be stopping at the ALPLApharma stand.

Standard packaging and custom designs
The ALPLApharma experts at the exhibition stand will be happy to show you the entire product range: from bottles for liquids and solids and containers for tablets and pills to closures and dispensing systems – especially eyedroppers and nasal sprays – as well as devices for administering medication with and without a measuring function. All of these products will be available in the new online shop, which will go live in time for the CPHI Worldwide exhibition.

More information about ALPLApharma
The ALPLA Group has combined all of its expertise and services especially for customers in the pharmaceutical industry in one company: ALPLApharma. ALPLA itself has been a well-known partner providing custom packaging solutions around the world for more than 60 years. 20,800 employees at 178 locations in 46 countries work every day on developing and producing innovative plastic packaging for customers from a wide range of industries. Areas of application include food, dairy products and beverages, as well as cosmetics, household cleaning products and motor oil.

More products, more service – and global presence
With acquisitions in south-eastern Europe and Africa in previous years, ALPLA has not just strengthened its presence in these regions. Thanks to the new locations, this family-run company based in Austria now has access to decades of experience in the packaging market for pharmaceutical products.

‘ALPLApharma is more than just a marketing strategy to us,’ asserts Walter Knes, Global Sales Director Closure Systems, Injected Parts and Pharma at ALPLA. ‘We are consolidating all our previous work for pharmaceutical customers under one roof. In doing so, we are combining the specific expertise available to us through our new locations with all of our services, knowledge and globally applicable standards.’ For customers this means a broader product range with more service at an international level.

Investments ensure quality
Since these acquisitions, ALPLA has invested heavily in the production facilities it has acquired and in the existing capacities there. In Greece, for example, cleanroom production has been expanded in accordance with ISO 7 in order to meet the growing demand for eye droppers. Internal plant procedures and external organisations or labs ensure that international standards and regulations are observed. Eugenia Tsartolia, Managing Director of ALPLA Greece, says, ‘There are lots of positive developments going on. We’ve received technologies and knowledge from ALPLA. As an ALPLA knowledge centre for the pharmaceutical market, we are naturally intensifying our research activities. In addition, integration in ALPLA’s global network is opening up entirely new possibilities and routes for dynamic growth.’
