AstraZeneca to invest in boosting research and development prowess

AstraZeneca will invest in several of its existing research and development centres around the world.

AstraZeneca has announced plans to invest in several of its existing research and development centres around the world as it works to boost overall productivity.
While no financial figures have been confirmed by the global pharmaceutical giant, it has stated that money will be injected into its Cambridge, London and Cheshire bases in the UK as well as into several locations in Sweden and the United States.
In particular, money will be spent on bringing together teams of leading scientists and establishing specialist development centres with the aim of boosting AstraZeneca's international reputation for cutting-edge biopharmaceutical innovation.
It is also intended that the fresh round of investment will help attract top new talent to the company, particularly given that all of the research centres set to receive new funding are located either in or close to major cities and top universities.
This comes just days after Johnson & Johnson announced the opening of its new London Innovation Centre.
