CDSCO to Set up Five New Labs for Cosmetics Testing

The laboratories are being planned in line with the recent regulatory measures by the Health Ministry to ensure the quality of cosmetic products both manufactured domestically and imported from outside.

With the cosmetic industry in India on the rise and the authorities taking steps to plug the loopholes to ensure its quality, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) is planning to set up five new laboratories for testing the quality of cosmetics.

 

The laboratories are being planned in line with the recent regulatory measures by the Health Ministry to ensure the quality of cosmetic products both manufactured domestically and imported from outside. The Ministry had made the registration of all imported cosmetics mandatory from April 2011.
