Ditertiary Butyl Dicarbonate (Boc Anhydride CAS) CAS: 24424-99-5 is a new type of amino protective agent, which is used to introduce tert-butoxycarbonyl (BOC) protective agent in organic synthesis, especially for amino protection of amino acids.

It is widely used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, protein and peptide synthesis, biochemistry, food, cosmetics and many other products. The finished product is colorless crystal or colorless liquid, melting point 22~23 ℃, boiling point 56~57 ℃/66 Pa, refractive index (ND20) 1.409, relative density 0.950. It is soluble in organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran, hexane, benzene and trichloromethane, and slightly soluble in water. English name: Di- tert- butyl dicarbonate, C.A Naming and registration number: Dicarbonic acid, bis ( 1, 1-dimethylethyl) ester, [24424-99- 5].

Ditertiary Butyl Dicarbonate (Boc Anhydride CAS) CAS: 24424-99-5 Application● Used as intermediates of pharmaceutical and organic synthesis, it is an important aminoprotectant used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical and agrochemical products.

● As a reagent to introduce Boc protecting group for the amine functionalities.

● To prepare tert-butyl ethers and Boc-alcohols in presence of Lewis acid catalyst.

● As a carboxylating agent for the preparation of a variety of tert-butyl carboxylates.

● For the conversion of amines to corresponding isocyanates, carbamates and urea derivatives.

● As a coupling reagent for anchoring various carboxylic acids to hydroxymethylated resins.

● To synthesize quinolinones and 2-(pseudo)haloquinolines from 2-alkenylanilines in presence of DMAP as a catalyst.

● Protection of alcohols as Boc derivatives via Lewis acid catalysis.

● Reagent for the introduction of the Boc protecting group.

● Tris-Boc protected hydrazine allows preparation of Fmoc ester in a chromophoric reagent to monitor solid-phase aldehydes.

● Aminomethyl allene was prepared by reaction of Boc propargyl amine with formaldehyde, diisopropylamine and copper bromide as part of a series of Bovine Plasma           Amine Oxidase inactivators.

● Reagent for the preparation of Boc protected amines.
