    Enzymicals AG provides wide range of enzymes which includes amine transaminases. It catalyse the transfer of an amino group from a primary amine to a prochiral ketone (or aldehyde). Amine transaminases are highly enantioselective and therefore can be used for the resolution of racemic amines or the synthesis of chiral amines from inexpensive ketones. This process is known as phosphorylation, where the substrate gains a phosphate group and a specific donor molecule provides a phosphate group. Biocatalytic phosphorylation has the advantage of mild reaction conditions and avoids additional reaction steps such as protection and deprotection of functional groups.
