Eirgen Pharma this quarter has announced the appointment of three senior leaders to key executive roles, further strengthening the company’s leadership structure as it continues to scale its global operations, manufacturing capabilities, and organizational infrastructure.
The appointments of James Murphy as Chief Operating Officer, Jan Willem (JW) Blüm as Chief Financial Officer, and Paul Hurley as a newly appointed member of Eirgen Pharma’s executive leadership team reflect the company’s continued investment in experienced leadership and its commitment to building the capabilities required to support its next phase of growth.
James Murphy, Chief Operating OfficerSince joining Eirgen in 2021 as Head of Engineering, James has been instrumental in the expansion of the company’s high-potency development and commercial manufacturing infrastructure. With more than 20 years of experience across research, product development, and manufacturing engineering, James is uniquely positioned to lead Eirgen’s operational future.
In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, James will oversee Manufacturing, Packaging, Supply Chain, Business Development, Engineering, Facilities, EHS, and Operational Excellence, ensuring continued stability, coordination, and performance across Eirgen’s production and development activities.
Jan Willem Blüm, Chief Financial Officer
Jan Willem (JW) joined Eirgen in 2021 as Head of Finance and brings more than 19 years of international leadership experience, with a background spanning financial planning, logistics, IT, and marketing across several European markets.
As Chief Financial Officer, JW will oversee Financial Strategy and Governance, IT, HR, Learning & Development, and Legal. His focus will be on ensuring Eirgen’s organizational systems, financial planning, and cross-functional processes effectively align the company’s human capital and financial investments with its long-term strategic objectives.
Paul Hurley, [New Executive Appointment]
Eirgen Pharma is also pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Hurley to its executive leadership team. Paul is an experienced oral solid dosage (OSD) technical specialist with more than 25 years of experience across drug product development, CDMO operations, and site leadership. His expertise spans the full product lifecycle, from early-stage development through to commercial launch, with a strong focus on delivering the highest quality standards.
Throughout his career, Paul has held key roles at Élan Pharmaceuticals, Alkermes, and, most recently, Novo Nordisk. He brings a wealth of technical knowledge and leadership experience to Eirgen and will play an important role as the company continues to execute its plans for growth.
Paul’s appointment further strengthens Eirgen’s executive capability and supports the company’s continued expansion, bringing additional expertise and leadership capacity as the organization grows its global operations and capabilities.
