Dave's passion for science led him to pursue a Ph.D. at Penn State University, where he had the privilege of working with Professor Steve Weinreb. After completing his doctorate, Dave found his way to Merck Research Labs in New Jersey, where he spent a productive 30 years in the Process Chemistry Department
Meet David Tschaen, our Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at AcceleDevDave's journey in pharmaceutical process chemistry has been remarkable, and we are grateful to have someone with his breadth of experience leading our team of chemists. Dave's passion for science led him to pursue a Ph.D. at Penn State University, where he had the privilege of working with Professor Steve Weinreb. After completing his doctorate, Dave found his way to Merck Research Labs in New Jersey, where he spent a productive 30 years in the Process Chemistry Department.
During his time at Merck, Dave led a team of exceptionally talented chemists, and together they played a crucial role in developing several groundbreaking projects which became important pharmaceutical products. Dave looks back on his tenure at Merck with immense gratitude, recognizing how fortunate he was to collaborate with a team of scientists who shared his commitment to improving the lives of patients worldwide.
In 2017, Dave decided to bring his knowledge and experience to us at AcceleDev. Since joining our team, he has become an invaluable mentor, source of wisdom and friend to all of us at AcceleDev, both in the United States and in China. Working closely with our talented chemistry team, Dave has made important contributions to the development of innovative and efficient processes that support our partners’ projects. We truly feel lucky to have Dave as part of the AcceleDev family.
