Neuland to open $20m* dedicated Process Development facility with integrated kilo labs in Hyderabad
Neuland Laboratories is expanding its process development capabilities with a new $20 million (₹189 crore) dedicated Process Development Centre in Hyderabad. Designed exclusively for process development and integrated scale-up activities, the 135,000 sq. ft. facility will house over 500 scientists and strengthen Neuland’s ability to accelerate development timelines, improve scale-up readiness, and support complex API and peptide programs from early development through commercialization.
Neuland Laboratories has announced the opening of a new dedicated Process Development Centre at its Genome Valley, Hyderabad campus. Scheduled for phased operationalization through October 2026, the 135,000 sq. ft. facility represents a $20 million (₹189 crore) investment focused entirely on process development, scale-up science, and manufacturing readiness.
Purpose-built to support API and peptide development programs, the centre combines advanced process development laboratories with integrated non-GMP kilo labs, enabling scientists to generate real-time scale-up data while continuing process optimization. This integrated approach helps identify manufacturability challenges earlier, reduces development cycle times, and accelerates the transition from laboratory development to commercial production.
The facility will feature AI-driven route scouting, parallel synthesis capabilities, Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs), advanced analytical laboratories, process engineering and safety capabilities, as well as dedicated peptide and purification laboratories. By combining digital technologies with specialized scale-up expertise, Neuland aims to improve decision-making, enhance process efficiency, and support increasingly complex development programs.
Once fully operational, the centre will expand Neuland’s process development workforce to more than 500 scientists, making it one of the largest process development teams in India. Together with the company's commercial manufacturing infrastructure and newly expanded peptide capabilities, the facility reinforces Neuland’s position as a specialist API CDMO partner supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies from development through commercial supply.
