SHL Medical has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, marking a significant advancement from its previous Silver rating and positioning the company among the top 5% of rated organizations in our industry for sustainability performance.
EcoVadis, one of the world’s most trusted business sustainability rating platforms, evaluated SHL Medical across four areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, rating performance on the policies in place, the actions taken, how progress is reported, and how broadly these efforts reach across the business. SHL Medical earned an overall score of 80/100, reflecting strong performance across all assessed areas.
The improved rating underscores SHL Medical’s progress in embedding sustainable innovation throughout its product portfolio, including the achievement of ISCC PLUS certification and the integration of biobased materials into product development. It also reflects advancements in operational excellence, marked by the expanded use of renewable energy, strengthened data robustness, and greater transparency in environmental reporting. In addition, the assessment highlights enhancements in sustainability governance, with reinforced policies on ethics, human rights, and grievance mechanisms, as well as more rigorous due diligence processes across the supply chain.
“Advancing from Silver to Gold in the EcoVadis assessment is a clear affirmation of SHL Medical’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and measurable progress in sustainability. This recognition reflects the rigor with which we pursue our commitments. Yet, the Gold Medal is not our destination. It is a significant milestone on a much longer journey as we continue to advance our Sustainability Strategy 2030”, confirms Dora Rio, Head of Sustainability.
SHL Medical welcomes the growing momentum of companies advancing their sustainability efforts, as collective action across industries amplifies impact far beyond what any single organization can achieve.
