SHL Medical expands with new office in Shanghai, China

SHL Medical is expanding its presence in Shanghai as part of its global growth strategy, aiming to become the market leader in China’s rapidly growing autoinjector sector by the end of 2025. With a current 49% market share and nearly 8 million devices sold, SHL plans to leverage its regulatory expertise, IP portfolio, and successful launch history to deepen customer relationships and attract new partners.

The new office, located in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Pudong, will serve as a key business development hub. SHL will showcase its self-injection solutions and local team at CPhI China, taking place June 24–26, 2025.

This strategic step to expand in Shanghai aligns with the organization’s ambitious global expansion program. The autoinjector market in China is experiencing significant growth, driven by factors such as the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, advancements in biologics, and a rising preference for self-administered treatments. SHL is on track to overtake the leadership in this market by the end of 2025. The new Shanghai location will serve as a hub for business development, enabling SHL Medical to keep close proximity to existing and new customers.
