SHL Medical reaches construction milestones at new manufacturing facilities in Switzerland and Taiwan

SHL Medical is pleased to announce two significant construction milestones that highlight the momentum of the organization’s global expansion. Both the new manufacturing facilities in Zug, Switzerland, and the Taoyuan-Nanmei in Taiwan have reached their topping-out stages, marking major progress on two cornerstone sites that will strengthen SHL Medical’s long-term operational capabilities. 

Zug, February 10, 2026 – SHL Medical is pleased to announce two significant construction milestones that highlight the momentum of the organization’s global expansion. Both the new manufacturing facilities in Zug, Switzerland, and the Taoyuan-Nanmei in Taiwan have reached their topping-out stages, marking major progress on two cornerstone sites that will strengthen SHL Medical’s long-term operational capabilities. 

On January 29, 2026, SHL Medical celebrated the topping-out of its new European manufacturing facility in Zug. The ceremony marked the completion of the structural shell of the six-story office and production complex, bringing the future Swiss headquarters one decisive step closer.

The project, initiated in 2020 with its first public reveal and advanced with the foundation stone ceremony in May 2024, is being realized in close collaboration with Tech Cluster Zug and architectural firm Penzel Valier.  

Once completed, the Zug manufacturing facility will serve as a central hub for innovation, advancing next-generation drug delivery solutions and strengthening SHL Medical’s service capabilities across Europe. The new site will expand the company’s manufacturing presence to three continents, further reinforcing global reach and supply chain resilience. 

Just days earlier, on January 19, 2026, SHL Medical’s Taoyuan-Nanmei manufacturing facility in Taiwan also celebrated its topping-out milestone. Following the groundbreaking ceremony in July 2024, the event marked the completion of the building’s main structural framework and demonstrated the strong progress of the construction project. 

“This topping-out marks an important step in consolidating SHL Medical’s footprint in Taiwan. The Taoyuan-Nanmei site is a long-term investment in our capabilities, our people, and our ability to support customers with reliable, high-quality solutions. Reaching this stage reflects the close collaboration between our teams and partners, and it gives us a solid foundation as we prepare for the next phase of growth”, emphasized CEO Ulrich Faessler at the event. 

 The Taoyuan-Nanmei manufacturing facility will consolidate key capabilities to enable more integrated and efficient operations across SHL Medical’s global network. 

With topping-out milestones reached in both Switzerland and Taiwan, SHL Medical confidently advances its global expansion. The new manufacturing facilities are foundational investments that will enhance the company’s global operating capacity, drive innovation, support sustainability goals, and ensure robust, high-quality service for customers worldwide.
