Torrent Pharma’s new Plant at Dahej commences operations
Company’s fifth formulation plant and the second API Plant.
Torrent Pharma commenced commercial operations at its new plant in Dahej. This is the company’s 5th formulation plant and the second API Plant. The facility is being set up in a two phases. The total investment made in the first phase of the plant is over Rs. 650 crores.
The new plant, situated in Dahej SEZ is spread across 70 acres site with a built up area of around 97000 m2. Phase 1 will have installed capacity of about 7,500 million tablets/capsules and 25 MT API per annum.
The plant will cater mainly to the more regulated international markets such as US, Brazil, Germany etc. and is already approved/under approval by regulatory authorities of these countries.
Jinesh Shah, Executive Director at Torrent Pharma said: “This plant will scale up Torrent’s manufacturing capacity to meet the growing demand from the international markets.”
Construction of Phase 2 will commence soon and once commissioned the total capacity will increase to about 14,000 million tablets/capsules and 80 MT API per year.
