Aceclofenac Injection

Aceclofenac injection is formulated as a sterile, clear, colorless-to-light-yellow solution intended strictly for parenteral use. The active ingredient, aceclofenac (chemical formula: C₁₆H₁₃Cl₂NO₄), functions as a glycolic acid ester of diclofenac, structurally optimized to provide balanced cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibition with improved gastric tolerability compared to older traditional NSAIDs. Standard formulations utilize organic co-solvents and stabilizers to maintain chemical stability across a 24-month shelf life. The standard adult dosage is a single 150mg dose administered via deep intramuscular (IM) injection into the upper outer quadrant of the gluteal muscle. Clinical use is strictly limited to short-term therapy, typically not exceeding 2 consecutive days, before transitioning patients to oral therapies if continued analgesia is required.
