Azithromycin for Injection

Azithromycin for Injection is a macrolide antibiotic used for susceptible bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue, and urogenital tract. It is given intravenously when oral therapy is not feasible or for more severe cases, often followed by oral step-down. It offers high tissue concentrations, a long half-life, and short once-daily courses, but should be used as prescribed; monitor for hypersensitivity, QT prolongation, hepatic dysfunction, and worsening myasthenia gravis.
