Byfavo Inj (remimazolam 20mg, 50mg) is an ultra–short–acting IV benzodiazepine sedative/anesthetic. It offers very rapid onset and offset of sedation, allowing quick patient recovery. In the body, remimazolam is rapidly metabolized by tissue esterases (not by CYP), which contributes to its brief duration and reduced drug interactions. Its mechanism (GABA_A potentiation) produces effective anxiolysis and amnesia for procedural sedation, with a favorable cardiovascular and respiratory safety profile. As with other benzos, Byfavo’s effects can be reversed by flumazenil if needed, giving clinicians precise control over sedation. Notably, clinical studies show remimazolam achieves adequate sedation with a shorter onset time and faster recovery than midazolam , making Byfavo ideal for short procedures and continuous-care settings.
