Febuxostat 40/80mg

Febuxostat Tablets 40 mg and 80 mg are oral, film-coated tablets containing febuxostat, a potent and selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor indicated for the chronic management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout. By selectively inhibiting xanthine oxidase, febuxostat reduces the production of uric acid, thereby lowering serum urate concentrations and promoting the dissolution of monosodium urate crystals. This helps prevent recurrent gout flares, reduces tophi formation, and minimizes long-term joint damage associated with chronic hyperuricemia. Febuxostat is highly selective for xanthine oxidase and has minimal effects on other enzymes involved in purine and pyrimidine metabolism. The tablets are intended for once-daily oral administration, with or without food, and should be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
