【Description】:

Fluorouracil is an antimetabolite. The medication is similar to the normal molecules in your body that make up your DNA (genetic information), but structurally, it looks different. This causes fluorouracil to interfere with the processes that allow DNA to make, fix, and copy itself, which then interfere with cell growth and division.

Skin cells, just like any other cells in the body, need to be able to make, fix, and copy DNA in order to grow and multiply. Fluorouracil blocks fast-growing cells, such as precancerous or cancerous skin cells, from performing these important processes. This can help slow down or stop their growth.
