Glucosamine

Glucosamine is an essential precursor (raw material) for the synthesis of Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) in the body. And Glycosaminoglycans are a major component of articular cartilage. The effectiveness of glucosamine in the treatment of osteoarthritis may be related to the anti-inflammatory activity, the catalytic activity of glucan and hyaluronic acid, and the reduction of the catalytic activity of chondrocytes. The reduction of the catalytic activity of chondrocytes can prevent the synthesis of proteolytic enzymes and other substances, thus reducing the damage of cartilage tissue, and reduce the death of articular chondrocytes.
