Granulation equipment

Cos.Mec offers advanced solutions for pharmaceutical wet granulation processes, during which products are transformed into granules either inside one pot only (High Shear Mixer of Fluid Bed Dryer) or within these two machines used separately to first granulate and then dry the product.

Our High Shear Mixers machines (HSMs) are ideal for wet mixing and granulation of pharmaceutical powers.  They allow both manual and automatic management of processing cycles and they are available also as through wall solutions. Their capacity ranges from 25 liters up to 1200 liters.

Some of the main features of Cos.Mec HSMs include:  the absence of driving chains or belts, lip-seal stainless steel or PTFE seals of the chopper and rotating blade, a pad valve with pneumatic command, an inspection window, the main structure completely closed with components and control panel inside the same, automatic management through PLC, touch screen panel and panel printer, just to mention a few.

A wide range of optionals is available including: 12 bar resistant construction, ex proof execution, kits for adding a granulation solution and kits for WIP.

Our Fluid Bed Dryers (FBDs) represent an ideal solution for granulating and drying pharmaceutical powders. Thanks to the optionals offered, they can be used both for simple processes like drying only and for complex activities like granulation and drying including the use of solvents. The capacity of the FBD chamber ranges from 30 liters up to 1600 liters.

Some of the main features of Cos.Mec FBDs include: their automatic management by PLC, touch screen and panel printer, the connection with an Air Treatment Unit equipped with HEPA filters and a steam heating battery, high-retention filter cartridges that can be cleaned during machine operation, just to mention a few examples.
