Ivermectin (Ivermectin) is a broad-spectrum anti-parasitic drug with molecular formulas of C, and C, and H, and O, (B1a), and CAS number 70288-86-7. It is derived from abamectin and is mainly used to treat parasitic infections in humans and animals, such as onchocerciasis, scabies and intestinal nematodes. It is widely used in the veterinary field to expel endo and ectoparasites. Its mechanism of action is by enhancing the inhibitory effect of the invertebrate neurotransmitter γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), resulting in parasite paralysis and death. In recent years, the potential efficacy of COVID-19 has been controversial, but most authorities believe that its antiviral effect lacks sufficient evidence. It should be noted that excessive use may lead to neurotoxicity.
