The working fluid circulates within the coil, with the outer wall of the coil enveloped by spray water. Heat from the working fluid is transferred to the spray water through the coil wall. The heated spray water primarily undergoes heat and mass exchange with the flowing air on the surface of the drip fill during the circulation process. After dissipating heat and cooling down, the spray water collects in the cold water basin for reuse. The hot and humid air, having absorbed heat, is expelled into the atmosphere via a fan.
