The lozenge forms a protective layer over the pharyngeal mucosa and this barrier provides physical (mechanical) protection against viruses and bacteria, preventing viruses and bacteria from entering and multiplying in the cells of our body. The active ingredient in gum arabic relieves itchy throat and dry cough.
