ORS Bactecal®

ORS Bactecal® is a food for special medical purposes developed for oral rehydration in cases of significant fluid loss (severe dehydration) caused by diarrhoea or vomiting. Suitable for the whole family, ORS Bactecal® is lactose-free, gluten-free. It combines glucose, minerals, live good bacteria (Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG and Lactobacillus reuteri), and zinc. This combination helps maintain a balanced level of hydration – a key element of wellbeing at any age. You should start oral rehydration as soon as diarrhoea or vomiting appears. To prevent dehydration : dissolve one sachet in 250 ml of water and drink 10 ml/kg of body weight after each loose stool.
In cases of vomiting, the oral rehydration solution should be offered and administered regularly in small quantities. Once diarrhoea, vomiting and dehydration have improved, gradually reduce intake of ORS Bactecal®. ORS Bactecal® should be used until diarrhoea and vomiting ceases.
